TERMS OF SERVICE

Welcome to Trauma Recovery Institute. By accessing or using our website and services, you agree to these Terms of Service.

Services

Trauma Recovery Institute provides:

  • Intensive EMDR therapy for individuals

  • Elite Mental Toughness® programs for organizations and therapists

  • Therapeutic consultation services

Services are provided by Dr. Yvette Curtis, LPC, and future associate therapists.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to book services independently. Minors may access services with parental/guardian consent.

Scheduling and Appointments

Consultation Calls:

  • Free 30-minute consultation calls are offered to assess fit for services

  • Consultations do not establish a therapeutic relationship

Intensive Therapy:

  • Intensive therapy sessions must be scheduled in advance

  • Scheduling is confirmed upon receipt of deposit

Cancellation Policy: See Intensive Therapy page for complete cancellation policy:

  • 15+ days notice: Full refund minus $500 administrative fee

  • Less than 15 days: Full deposit forfeited

  • Medical emergencies considered individually

Payment

Accepted Methods: Credit card, bank transfer, HSA/FSA accounts

Payment Terms:

  • 25% deposit required to secure dates

  • Balance due 14 days before intensive begins

  • Payment plans considered case-by-case

No Insurance: We do not accept insurance directly. Superbills provided for out-of-network reimbursement.

Professional Relationship

Not a Crisis Service: Our services are not appropriate for psychiatric emergencies. If you are in crisis, contact:

  • 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline

  • 911 for emergencies

  • Local emergency services

Scope of Services: Services provided are therapeutic in nature and do not constitute medical treatment, diagnosis, or prescription of medication.

Client Responsibility: Clients are responsible for:

  • Arriving prepared for sessions

  • Providing accurate information

  • Following treatment recommendations

  • Arranging appropriate support during intensive therapy

Confidentiality

Therapeutic communications are confidential per HIPAA and Alaska state law, with standard exceptions:

  • Imminent danger to self or others

  • Suspected child or elder abuse

  • Court order

Limitation of Liability

Trauma Recovery Institute and Dr. Yvette Curtis are not liable for:

  • Outcomes of therapeutic services (therapy results vary)

  • Technical issues with website or scheduling systems

  • Damages resulting from use of information on our website

Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for services.

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or our services will be resolved through:

  1. Good faith negotiation

  2. Mediation (if negotiation fails)

  3. Arbitration in Alaska (if mediation fails)

Alaska law governs these Terms.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
